While technically a fish, the mudskipper is one of the only fish that can actually walk on land! Commonly found in mudflats from West Africa to New Guinea,
the mudskipper will use their gill chambers to hold water and a bubble of air, allowing the fish to breath on land and causing their cheeks puff up.
While it can walk on land, the mudskipper still needs to be wet, specifically their eyes as every time the mudskipper blinks, its eyes are submerged in water.
Mudskippers are omnivores and will eat almost anything that can fit in their mouths. Mudskippers get their name from their iconic skip, being able to skip
across the water, easily evading any predator. Like most animals, the male mudskippers build nests for the female mudskippers to lay eggs, males also
have an extra fin that they use for intimidation or mating.
